Medical Director Oversight for Wellness & Aesthetic Practices

Elite USMD can assist with preparing and organizing applicable clinical documentation. The Medical Director reviews and approves applicable clinical protocols and standing orders and retains clinical authority. Elite’s role is to support the documentation and operational infrastructure surrounding the Medical Director relationship, not to independently approve clinical protocols or replace the physician’s clinical judgment.

Patient Medical Assessment / Clearance may be part of the clinical workflow depending on the services provided and applicable state requirements. Integrated patient medical assessment and clearance workflows where applicable, based on the services provided and applicable state requirements. Where applicable, these workflows may be supported through Medical Health Covers, helping connect patient assessment and clearance to the broader Medical Director and clinical-support structure.

Adding a new treatment may mean parts of the practice’s supporting clinical and compliance infrastructure need to be revisited. Depending on the service, this may include applicable clinical protocols or standing orders, Patient Medical Assessment / Clearance workflows where applicable, treatment documentation, provider responsibilities, Medical Director review and approval of applicable clinical materials, and supporting oversight records. Elite can help organize and coordinate the applicable documentation and workflows as the practice expands its service mix.

Elite can assist with Provider License & Credential Documentation Review when providers are added to the practice. This may include license verification and the collection, organization and maintenance of provider credential documentation. Elite does not perform formal provider or payor credentialing and does not independently determine whether a provider is legally permitted to perform a particular treatment.

Elite does not independently determine provider scope of practice. Applicable responsibilities can depend on factors such as state law, professional licensure, the treatment or service being provided, physician oversight and the structure of the practice. Elite can help organize provider documentation and support the infrastructure surrounding the clinical arrangement. Questions requiring legal interpretation should be addressed with independent legal counsel where appropriate.

Elite may be able to support wellness and aesthetic practices operating across multiple locations or states, depending on the practice configuration and engagement. Expansion may require additional review of physician and provider licensure, practice structure, clinical documentation, oversight arrangements and supporting workflows. Additional locations or business entities may require a separate scope of work and pricing.

The Medical Director relationship should include a clear process for appropriate clinical communication. A defined process for clinical communication and escalation to the Medical Director when appropriate. Depending on the engagement, the ongoing relationship may also include recurring Medical Director/provider communication, chart review where applicable and supporting documentation of physician involvement. Elite does not replace the Medical Director’s independent clinical judgment.
